Based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Zane Grey, Riders of the Purple Sage will be the first world premiere produced by Arizona Opera. Audiences will follow this Wild West adventure through the sweeping vistas and massive canyons of the Southwest, created by scenic paintings from world-renowned Arizona artist, Ed Mell.

With help from the prince’s tutor, and a pair of beautiful bracelets, Angelina navigates the precarious court of Prince Ramiro, hoping to win his heart. Real-life sweethearts Daniela Mack (Carmen, 2016) and Alek Shrader bring this fun, vibrant, fairytale to life.

Arizona Opera Studio: New York Concert Preview
Christ Church of the Ascension in Paradise Valley proudly presents Arizona Opera's acclaimed Marion Roose Pullin Studio Artists in an exhilarating concert, previewing a program they will present at Opera America's National Opera Center in New York City. Selected from a highly competitive audition process held throughout the country, these artists are featured in Arizona Opera's mainstage performances all season. The 2016/17 Arizona Opera Studio is comprised of soprano Katrina Galka, mezzo-soprano Mariya Kaganskaya, baritone Joseph Lattanzi, mezzo-soprano Alyssa Martin, pianist Cody Martin, and bass-baritone Zachary Owen. They have performed to great acclaim at the Santa Fe Opera, Glimmerglass Festival, Des Moines Metro Opera, and Portland Opera.
