A Silent Night: A WWI Memorial in Song

Wednesday, January 9, 2019 7:00PM

Phoenix

Arizona Opera is proud to present baritone John Brancy and pianist Peter Dugan in a moving recital commemorating WWI. In A Silent Night: A WWI Memorial in Song, we pay hommage to the centennial of the end of this terrible conflict through performance of works by composers who lived through, fought in, and died in the Great War. This performance is presented in preparation for Arizona Opera's Modern Masterwork performances of Kevin Puts' opera Silent Night, which is based on the true story of the 1914 Christmas truce between opposing sides of this conflict.

This critically-acclaimed program comes to Arizona on a national tour that has seen performances at Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, and the Smithsonian Institute.

This performance will take place at Central United Methodist Church located at 1875 N Central Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85004. Seating is general admission and doors will open at 6:30 PM.
