A Silent Night: A WWI Memorial in Song

Friday, January 11, 2019 7:00PM

Arizona Opera is proud to present baritone John Brancy and pianist Peter Dugan in a moving recital commemorating WWI. In A Silent Night: A WWI Memorial in Song, we pay hommage to the centennial of the end of this terrible conflict through performance of works by composers who lived through, fought in, and died in the Great War. This performance is in presented in preparation for Arizona Opera's Modern Masterwork performances of Kevin Puts' opera Silent Night, which is based on the true story of the 1914 Christmas truce between opposing sides of this conflict.

This critically-acclaimed program comes to Arizona on a national tour that has seen performances at Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, and the Smithsonian Institute.

This event will take place in the Recital Hall at Pima Community College Center for the Arts, West Campus, 2202 W. Anklam Rd. Seating is general admission and doors will open at 6:30 PM.
