Description

Join the Marlu Allan & Scott Stallard Costume Shop this season as they guide us through and introductory masterclass to beadwork. In this three-hour class, Alita Lopez (Arizona Opera's Wig & Makeup Manager) will introduce various beading and thread techniques, including beading onto a backing, loop earrings and embellishing embroidery with beads. 

Each Masterclass purchased helps train an Arizona Opera Production Apprentice, enabling them to learn the skills and gain the experience necessary to begin their careers with confidence.

Most needed materials are covered in the Class WITH Kit fee. Please note this masterclass will be held virtually. Once you secure your spot by purchasing below, you will receive a Zoom link via email 24 hours prior to the event.

Supplies Provided:

• 10 yds thread (on bobbin with clip)
• 3 beading needles
• 300 4mm seed beads, mixed colors
• 1,000 2mm seed beads, mixed colors
• 40 5-8mm stone beads
• 300 7mm sequins, mixed colors
• 300 6mm sequins, mixed colors 
• 16 silver findings, mixed styles
• 10 rhinestones, mixed assortment
• 8 cord ends
• 8 wire guardians
• 5 pairs of earring hooks
• 2 pairs of clip on earring hooks
• 1 head tray
• 1 round nose jewelry pliers
• 1 needle threader
• 1 brooch back
• 12" pc brocade/ embroidered fabric
• 1 pc beeswax & tin
• 1 pc backing for beadwork

• Scissors
• Pencil
• Thimble

Additional Notes:

Please choose below if you would like to pick up your kit at the Arizona Opera Center (1636 N. Central Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85004) or have it shipped to you.

Shipping: Orders must be placed by February 21, 2021 in order to be shipped in time for the masterclass. The cost of shipping has already been calculated in the price below. You will not be charged an additional shipping fee.
Pick Up: Orders must be picked up from the Arizona Opera Center by February 24, 2021.
