Description

Join the Marlu Allan & Scott Stallard Costume Shop this season as they guide us through an introductory masterclass to millinery. In this three-hour class, Kathleen Trott (Arizona Opera’s Costume Shop Manager) will introduce basic millinery and attendees will get to create their own retro style fascinator.

Each masterclass purchased helps train an Arizona Opera Production Apprentice, helping them learn the skills and gain the experience necessary to begin their careers with confidence.

Most needed materials are covered in the Class WITH Kit fee. Please note this masterclass will be held virtually. Once you secure your spot by purchasing below, you will receive a Zoom link via email 24 hours prior to the event.

Supplies Provided:

• 1 pc Buckram
• 1 fascinator base
• 0.25 yds Fashion Fabric *
• 0.25 yds accent fabric
• 0.25 yds lining fabric
• 0.25 yds lace for "veil"
• 1-2 yds ribbon x4
• 1-2 yds ribbon
• 4-8 feathers
• 3-5 flowers
• 1-2 yds accent lace
• 0.5 yds millinery wire
• 1 hair comb
• 2 hair clips
• 1 thread
• 5 needles
• 12 large headed pins
• 4 binder clip
• 1 beeswax & tin

Supplies Needed Not Provided in Kit:

• Scissors
• Pencil
• Iron
• Pin cushion

Additional Notes:

Please choose below if you would like to pick up your kit at the Arizona Opera Center (1636 N. Central Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85004) or have it shipped to you.

Shipping: Orders must be placed by January 17, 2021 in order to be shipped in time for the masterclass. The cost of shipping has already been calculated in the price below. You will not be charged an additional shipping fee.
Pick Up: Orders must be picked up from the Arizona Opera Center by January 20, 2021.
