Opera on the REEL! Arizona Opera’s popular summer opera film festival returns beginning June 2022! Enjoy three fantastic operas on the big screen as we the art form to Harkin’s Theaters in Scottsdale and Tucson. New this season – films presented represent works performed by multiple opera companies - Opera Philadelphia’s La Traviata, San Franscico Opera’s performance of Rigoletto, and Arizona Opera’s own The Copper Queen.

As the doomed heroine Violetta, celebrated soprano Lisette Oropesa headlines this 2020 production of Verdi’s timeless tragedy, starring opposite tenor Alek Shrader as her lover, Alfredo, and baritone Stephen Powell as Alfredo’s overbearing father, Giorgio Germont. Corrado Rovaris conducts Paul Curran dazzling staging.
